The Contest
Our cities have expressways and thoroughfares, routes that are intended for cars and where people are the exception. And then there are the streets where people play, stroll or chat. People fill our streets with life, hosting flea markets, setting up food stands and planting trees.
We need many more of these vibrant, animated streets and we need a whole lot more ideas for transforming austere stretches of asphalt into living streets. SPIEGEL WISSEN and SPIEGEL ONLINE have therefore joined forces with our partner BAUHAUS in seeking the very best ideas for our "Good Ideas for Improving Our Streets" competition.
Streets are the theme of the third annual Social Design Award. Again this year, a jury will choose a winner and readers of SPIEGEL ONLINE and SPIEGEL WISSEN will select the audience award recipient. Each award comes with a 2,500 prize. The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2016. We look forward to your participation!
You can find out more about the competition and how social design is changing our cities in the current issue of SPIEGEL WISSEN, which is dedicated to the topic Creativity".
