Following the successful runs in 2011 and 2012, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), together with Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) and Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) are jointly organising the International Tropical Architecture Design Competition 2013 for Institutes of Higher Learning (henceforth known as IHL Competition) again this year. The competition is co-located with the International Green Building Conference (IGBC) and is part of the Singapore Green Building Week, which will take place from 9-13 September 2013 in Singapore.
The IHL competition aims to reach out to students, the leaders of tomorrow, and raise awareness in the areas of sustainability and mitigating climate change. The competition not only allows students to explore the vast realms of knowledge revolving around sustainability, but also provides a platform for them to showcase their innovative sustainable ideas, encouraging them to become the green leaders of tomorrow in the process.
Themed “Live, Study, Play – Our Green Campus”, this year’s competition seeks for entries that demonstrate the essentials and key constituents of a green campus. The competition is opened to tertiary students from all around the world and accepts both team and individual participation. The publicity flyer, rules and regulations, registration and declaration form are available upon request.
