The DFZ is accepting applications from emerging designers and architects, design business, and tech startups who require business incubation and/or design and fabricate support to produce commercial products, installations and exhibitions. The Design Fabrication Zone (DFZ) at Ryerson University is an interdisciplinary incubator for design and fabrication, where emerging entrepreneurs build their ideas. From concept development to three-dimensional prototyping and beyond, the DFZ facilitates the incubation and acceleration of project ideas and strategically propels them towards real-life application and business innovation. The DFZ accepts membership applications on an ongoing basis. Members include entrepreneurs from the wider community who are paired with experienced industry mentors to complete design/fabrication projects.
Members get access to the high tech fabrication tools like 3D printers, Robots, CNC Routers, Laser Cutters, Foam Cutters and traditional wood, plastic and metal-working equipment.
