not really really presents a diversity of works created from functional objects and materials that have been stripped of their utility to propose alternate realities.
The exhibition is presented in a former mental health facility stripped down into a raw space to present 75 artists through a maze of rooms sprawling over four floors.
Removed from the material world, the objects have undergone various transformations to tackle a variety of subjects: car water containers blown in Murano glass, fans mounted on Belgian beer bottles, dishes cast in concrete, flattened silverware suspended in the air, and salt blocks shaped by donkey tongues dialogue playfully throughout four winding floors of a former mental health facility.
In addition to works in the collection, four artists, Joël Andrianomearisoa, Loup Sarion, Benoit Platéus and Jean-François Boclé, have been commissioned to create site-specific installations responding to the space and elaborating further on the exhibition concept.
Curated by Frédéric de Goldschmidt and Agata Jastrząbek.
