A London Summer, though wet currently, is one that is full of laughter, unique ideas and can capture the true culture which surrounds the eager ideas-factory of its young people. Not too many things combine all these into one event. Canal; meet pop-up cinema. I think you’ll get along quite nicely.
“UP Projects created The Floating Cinema in 2013 designed by award winning Duggan Morris Architects. The Floating Cinema is an extraordinary floating structure, a mobile arts venue and cinema that navigates the waterways of London and the UK. UP Projects devises a program of film screenings, participatory events, workshops and talks to a yearly changing theme.”
The weekend of the 19th August will focus on how "London is mutating in bizarre ways, driven by its status as a global financial hub". Film screenings and discussion will center around how the homes of London are "becoming piggy banks for foreign capital", and the changes to the city fueled by gentrification.
Join for a "weekend of films celebrating, eulogizing and interrogating the changing city". For more information click here.
