Meet the architect behind the project to learn how new life was breathed into the ruins of this National Historic Landmark. - Responding to the Oglethorpe Plan - Join this interactive walking tour of one of the country’s most influential urban designs, the Oglethorpe Plan. Noted architect and educator Edmund Bacon said that the plan is “so exalted that it remains as one of the finest diagrams for city organization and growth in existence.” - New Year’s Eve Beaux Arts Ball - Celebrate the ushering in of a new year in the nation’s oldest planned city. Revelers can enjoy incredible artwork at the SCAD Museum of Art and relax under the stars in the museum’s spectacular outdoor spaces. Internationally renowned architect Antoine Predock will serve as the event's keynote speaker. A son of the expansive desert Southwest, Predock is known for a design aesthetic that honors the surrounding physical environment, creating a symbiotic relationship among the client, building and natural world. His projects span a diversity of styles and uses, from the famed Turtle Creek House in Dallas, Texas, to Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres Major League Baseball team.
