AIA-LOS ANGELES | COTE PRESENTS A PANEL DISCUSSION SERIES FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! (What is) THE NATURE OF LA? Panel Discussion 3 FOOD, ART AND COMMUNITY: Creative Community Engagement with the Environment We invite you to join us in a dialogue on February 23rd about “What is the Nature of LA?” and how community is built and manifested here among Angelenos living in diverse communities divided by sprawl, artificial boundaries, geography, and race. The conversation will take place in two parts and feature speakers from the food equity, art and architecture communities. Guest speakers will include leaders from Slanguage, Homegirl Cafe, the Urban Ecology Policy Institute at Occidental College, Inner City Arts, RootDown LA, and architect Kyong Park. These community leaders will help begin a conversation about how these two types of creative endeavors in our neighborhoods can lead to community as well as a deeper understanding of our connection to our environment here in Los Angeles. http://www.aialosangeles.org
