Woodbury University Hollywood Outpost’s second show of the Fall 2017 series, Studio Fuksas, opens on Saturday, October 7, at 6:00pm. The Studio Fuksas exhibition consists of five videos exploring Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas’s most recent and iconic architectural works. The video exhibition follows in the footsteps of the WUHO gallery’s previous exhibits intended to demystify the discipline of architecture, making possible unconventional multifaceted and interdisciplinary design approaches.
Massimilano Fuksas, when asked in a recent interview what he thought was necessary to ensure the future relevance of a project, commented: “DISCIPLINE, combined with INSTINCT and INTUITION, takes us to the land of the UNFAMILIAR. That is where the IDEA is transformed into ACTION, giving birth to the SYMBOL, where the IMAGE and EMOTION coexist. […] FREEDOM is generated by KNOWLEDGE. One must learn how to choose to remain relevant in the FUTURE. We architects need to design in a way that advocates for PEACE rather than war. We need to DESIGN towards a world that is WITHOUT BORDERS and is MORE JUST.”
The show will run through Sunday, October 29, 2017. Gallery hours: Thursdays 1:00–8:00 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays 1:00–6:00 p.m.
