UTS Broadway Design Competition

THE COMPETITION

The UTS Broadway Design Competition is a unique opportunity to design a new 5 star Green Star building on the southern edge of the Sydney CBD.

The competition is open to all registered Australian architects, and will be conducted in two stages.

Each second stage participant firm will be paid $50,000.

LOCATION

The UTS Broadway Building, to be of 27,000 sq. m, will house the UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.

It will be located on the north side of Broadway, between Wattle and Jones Streets, opposite the Frasers Broadway site (formerly the Carlton United Brewery).

The UTS Broadway Building will be a vital part of the redefinition of the southern approach to the Sydney CBD.

DATES

12 January 2009: Launch first stage competition

31 January 2009: Registrations close; question period closes

6 February 2009: Answers to questions posted

25 February 2009: First stage competition closes

30 March 2009: Launch second stage competition

13 May 2009: Second stage competition closes
