Holcim Awards

Register/Submit Deadline:  Friday, Feb 29, 200810 PMEDT

The Holcim Awards are an international competition for projects that embody approaches to meet the present-day needs for housing and infrastructure without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs in times to come.

Entries open on June 1, 2007 at 14:00hrs GMT and close February 29, 2008 at 14:00hrs GMT. At the time of submission, projects should be at an advanced stage of design. Project execution may not have started before June 1, 2007.

The Holcim Awards competition is comprised of five regional Holcim Awards (in 2007/8) and the global Holcim Awards (in 2009). The regional Holcim Awards are based on five geographic regions: Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

The Awards competition encourages sustainable responses to the technological, environmental, socioeconomic and cultural issues affecting building and construction – regionally as well as globally. The objective of the Holcim Foundation in cooperation with its partner universities is to establish the Holcim Awards as an international platform for professionals and specialists of all generations to promote interdisciplinary dialog, bring forward new ideas and examine potential solutions.
