Kazutoshi Katayama Exhibition

Kazutoshi Katayama assumed his post at the architecture department of the Tokyo University of the Arts in 1989 and has since devoted himself to the instruction and education of its students. Focusing on architecture and environmental design, Katayama has worked on urban planning projects both in Japan and abroad, settlement surveys, residential design and landscape planning. This exhibition commemorates his coming retirement as professor from the architectural department of the Tokyo University of the Arts in March 2009, and features the results of his surveys of traditional Chinese housing based on his creative research, as well as his "Machimichisumai" architectural works.
