Canadian contemporary design publication Azure magazine recently announced the winners in their fifth annual AZ Awards. Every year, Azure gives designers, architects, firms, manufacturers, and students from all design disciplines to send in the best of their work for a chance to win.
Compared to 652 entries from 36 countries last year, the 2015 competition reeled in 720 entries from 43 countries, which was then narrowed down to 66 finalists. The public also had the chance to participate by voting for their favorite finalists. At the end of the competition, the jury selected 19 winners.
This year's jury featured architect Winka Dubbeldam of Archi-Tectonics (New York); architect Brendan MacFarlane of Jakob + MacFarlane (Paris); designer Anwar Mekhayech of the Design Agency (Toronto); landscape architect Janet Rosenberg of Janet Rosenberg & Studio (Toronto); and designer Philippe Malouin (London).
