Talk - Annette Insdorf’s “Cinematic Overtures: How to Read Opening Scenes” | June 12
Are you a film buff? Columbia University Film Professor Annette Insdorf will discuss her latest book, “Cinematic Overtures: How to Read Opening Scenes”, including film clips. The book offers insights into more than 40 films, covering a unique amalgam of high-profile titles and undiscovered gems. A book signing will follow. Event is free, but tickets are required.

Archinect Outpost Launch Party | June 15
Join Archinect in celebrating the opening of Archinect Outpost and the launch of Ed 2 "Architecture of Disaster" on June 15, 7-10 PM. Archinect Outpost is an exciting new retail initiative in downtown LA's Arts District, a rapidly transforming creative hub home to SCI-Arc and a number architecture & design practices. Environment[al]: Curated by Herwig Baumgartner and Marcelyn Gow | Opening on June 15
A public exhibition examining contemporary attitudes toward environment in a post-digital context. Sites, objects, and spaces become estranged to engender multiple authenticities and produce a fusion between architectural form and forms germane to constructed natures. Exhibition discussion and opening reception: June 15.

South Grand Neighborhood and Colorado Street Bridge Walking Tour | June 16
Stroll through this historic part of Pasadena. During the late 1880s and early 1890s many large, luxurious, Victorian-era homes were built along Grand Avenue, Orange Grove Boulevard and the connecting side streets. From the cul-de-sac at Defenders Park, guests will also walk out onto the Colorado Street Bridge.

Cabinet | Open now until June 17
Final week for the A+D Museum's “Cabinet” exhibition, which features works produced by the USC M.Arch Class of 2018 during their thesis explorations that engage precedence in architecture.
