We get it. It can get a little overwhelming keeping up with the dozens of new architecture competitions launching worldwide on any given week — let alone having to stay on top of the multiple deadlines for each and every one. That's why Bustler is here to help! At the end of every week, we'll share a quick selection of our newest design competition submissions that we think are worth a look, as well as some ongoing ones you might have missed the first time. Check out our latest competition recommendations below.
In/Visible Borders
Register/Submit Deadline: Sunday, Dec 16, 2018
Launched by the AIA|DC Urban Design Committee, this competition strives to elicit new ideas for the places in which we, the people, live and how we can continue to achieve more spatial equity. How does the design process vary and how can it be reimagined with respect to borders, at multiple scales, and what impacts would this have on the community at large? When do borders contribute to spatial equity and when do they harm these pursuits? These are some of the questions entrants must consider in their submissions.

Wikitopia International Competition, Phase 2
Register/Submit Deadline: Friday, Dec 28, 2018
We solicit new “apps” that will become the foundational building blocks of Wikitopia — “future cities created by everyone”. Here, we use the term “app” to refer to any idea that affects urban space or people’s activities within it, through spontaneous actions of citizens (physical, digital, or a combination thereof). This is the second phase of our competition. We solicit ideas that either build on, or combine entries to the Phase 1 Competition.
