The Seoul Metropolitan Government in Korea launched the Rehabilitating Mapo Oil Depot into a Cultural Depot Park international competition to gather ideas to preserve the abandoned Mapo Oil Depot, which stands as a historic icon to Seoul's industrial past.
At the end of the competition, the jury awarded three prize winners and nine Honorable Mentions. The first-place winner would receive a design contract, which includes schematic design and construction documentation for architecture, civil engineering, and landscape architecture. The rest of the winners would receive cash prizes in various sums.
The distinguished jury members featured: Toyo Ito, Francisco Sanin, Seong-Ryong Cho, Seung-Hoy Kim, and Kyung-Jin Zoh.

1ST PLACE (Design Contract): Petro: Reading the Story of the Site by RoA architects + Seogoo Heo, Jaesam Lee
2ND PLACE (50 million KRW; approx. US$49,000) : Park T6 by Arcbody Architects + Phil Soo Kim, Jooeun Sung
3RD PLACE (KRW 20 million; approx. US$19,600): Culture Casting Tank by System Lab Group
