Vienna-based tnE Architects have been awarded the Hans Hollein Art Prize

the next ENTERprise Architects (tnE Architects) have recently been announced as the recipients of the Hans Hollein Art Prize. The Vienna architectural office, headed by Marie-Therese Harnoncourt and Ernst J. Fuchs, was honored “for its comprehensive and internationally recognized oeuvre”. The prize is named after the globally renowned architect and Pritzker Prize winner Hans Hollein, who died in 2014.
The award was presented last year for the first time (to Hermann Czech) and consists of a 15,000 euro prize. The firm focuses on incorporating the random and unpredictable into their designs in order to create spaces that go beyond functionality. Founded in 2000, tnE Architects' portfolio includes buildings, installations, exhibition design, and experimental interventions in the cityscape.
They have exhibited several times at the Venice Architecture Biennale with their latest 2016 project, “HAWI – experimental temporary living”, featured in the Austrian Pavilion. tnE Architects' Wolke 7 Catering Pavilion in Grafenegg Castle Park was awarded the Client Prize of the Central Association of Austrian Architects in 2017 and the AIT Award in 2018.
