Located in 100 km from Latvia’s capital, Ozilini retreat is home to ancient tea-making methods. Surrounded by forests and lakes, the retreat is an idyllic spot for city-dwellers to escape to and reconnect with nature. Ozolini owner's Brigita and Dima Lukini draw on generations of experience in the art of tea-making, and are now offering a chance for guests to learn more about the traditions.
The Teamakers Guest House competition is the second collaboration with Ozilini, this time tasking participants to create designs for accommodation on the site of an old stone barn. The jury for this competition are looking for innovations in eco-friendly design that creates an inviting and welcoming guest house where visitors can learn the ancient art of tea-making while they relax, meditate, and reconnect with nature.
As well as including typical features such as ensuite bathrooms, a kitchen area, and open concept living room, the guest house will also be used to host events such as yoga classes and meditation sessions, as well as gatherings and small events. It is hoped that the final project will encourage more ecotourism in the regions.
The Teamakers Guest House is a chance to create an inviting retreat that also encourages more ecotourism in the regions. The competition is now open until May 3, 2019, and winners of the US $6,000 prize will be announced on July 23, 2019.
