David Hockney: The Yosemite Suite | April 28, recommended by Amelia-Taylor Hochberg
In 2010 and 2011, the artist David Hockney visited Yosemite National Park and sketched what he saw on his iPad. Those nearly twenty drawings have now been tailored into large-scale prints, up to eight feet tall, capturing the vastness of the landscape and Hockney’s fascination with the potentials of new technology. “The Yosemite Suite” follows “The Arrival of Spring in Woldgate, East Yorkshire in 2011 (twenty-eleven)” as Hockney’s second collection of works made on the iPad.
