Ben van Berkel: Arnhem Central – A Station with a Twist | May 5, recommended by Justine Testado
Ben van Berkel of UNStudio will talk about the lengthy development and construction process of the Arnhem Central Masterplan, which took 19 years to complete and finally opened to the public last November. Listen to van Berkel talk about the Arnhem Central Station's key design strategies, a timely topic when transportation hubs around the world are finding the best solutions to expedite the normally stressful traveling process. He will also point out other relevant UNStudio projects. This lecture is ticketed.

Designing for the Refugee Crisis | May 9, recommended by Alexander Walter
The Museum of Architecture, in partnership with The Building Centre, is highlighting the urgency of the current European refugee crisis and hosts a panel discussion with architects and designers under the theme "The question is not should the architectural community respond, but how?"

‘Utopia London’ Tom Cordell in conversation with Joseph Watson | May 10, recommended by Justine Testado
Yearning to talk about Brutalism? Filmmaker Tom Cordell — who directed the “Utopia London” documentary — will be in conversation with Joseph Watson, London Creative Director of the National Trust, which hosted the popular ‘Brutal Utopias’ tour series. Join them as they talk about the increasing interest in Brutalist architecture history in the UK.

Nicolas Grospierre: “Modern Forms: A Subjective Atlas of Modern Architecture” | Open now until May 28, recommended by Nicholas Korody
The photographic collection of Nicolas Grospierre, author of the popular blog "A Subjective Atlas of Modern Architecture," is currently on exhibit at the AA. The show, which was curated by Alona Pardo and Elias Redstone, includes photos of modernist buildings from Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia taken between 1920 and 1989. If you're not already familiar with Grospierre's excellent work, then this show should serve as a great introduction.

Strange and Familiar: Britain as Revealed by International Photographers | Open now until June 19, recommended by Amelia Taylor-Hochberg
View modern Britain through the eyes of internationally acclaimed photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson, Rineke Dijkstra, Robert Frank and Garry Winogrand, in “Strange and Familiar,” on through June 19 at the Barbican. The standout show is curated by iconic photographer Martin Parr, with exhibition design by Witherford Watson Mann.
