Los Angeles Design Festival 2016 | June 9-26, recommended by Justine Testado
Gather 'round with fellow design enthusiasts during the L.A. Design Festival. With events happening citywide until June 26, you can sign up for the Neighborhood Tours and the Restaurant Tours in DTLA and Silver Lake this week. A good excuse to get a look inside some of L.A.'s most hip food joints, local businesses, as well as the offices of architects like Oyler Wu Collaborative, Standard, Warren Techentin, and Project M+.

Art and Politics: Between Purity and Propaganda book talk | June 26, recommended by Nicholas Korody
Art is often the vehicle for politics, but likewise politics touches art, determining the limits and forms acceptable in any given society. In as politically-charged a time as now, the question of how the two intersect feels quite urgent. Head over to the the Wende Museum in Culver City to hear a talk by curator Dr. Joes Segal about his new book, "Art and Politics: Between Purity and Propaganda."
