Manhattanhenge | July 12, recommended by Justine Testado
Popularized by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, “Manhattanhenge” — sometimes called the Manhattan Solstice — happens twice every summer when the setting sun is perfectly aligned with the east-west streets of Manhattan's street grid. Snap some sweet Instagram-worthy photos of the celestial event over at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park, which will keep its gates open after-hours. Don't miss out, or you'll have to wait until next July!

As a worker-founded organization devoted to advancing the value of architecture–both in the general public and within the discipline–The Architecture Lobby runs on the steam of its members and supporters. Studio Job MAD HOUSE | Open now until August 21, recommended by Alexander Walter
In the mood for something wonky and provocative this week? Good. The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents the exhibition Studio Job MAD HOUSE showcasing the work of Belgian Job Smeets and Dutch Nynke Tynagel. Proudly pushing the reputation of enfants terribles of the art and design world, the duo's been active in a wide spectrum of media and forms, always marrying traditional arts practices with contemporary themes—spiced with a not-so-small dash of tongue-in-cheek.
