Picturing the Bronx on Film | September 20, recommended by Justine Testado
Inspired by the legacy of Bronx-born photographer and educator Mel Rosenthal, photojournalist and Bronx Documentary Center founder Michael Kamber will lead this can't-be-missed panel discussion on how The Bronx has been photographed from the mid-20th century to the present day. Gain insight from Ricky Flores, Robert A. Gumbs, Sina Nitzsche, and Elle Perez, who all have decades of experience working and living in the borough.

Gaza as Metaphor | September 22, recommended by Nicholas Korody
"Gaza as Metaphor" is a new book that brings together journalists, writers, academics and others to look at the politicized region as metaphor, "to contextualize its everyday realities, interrogate its representations and provide an understanding of its real and symbolic significance." Hosted by NYU, the event starts at 6PM.

The Other Architect | Open now until December 2, recommended by Justine Testado
Organized by the Canadian Centre for Architecture, The Other Architect recently opened at Columbia GSAPP. As architectural practice continues to intertwine with other disciplines, this exhibition examines 23 case studies on the alternative practices of multi-disciplinary groups from the 1960s to today. You'll find work from collectives like AMO, Forensic Architecture, Architects Revolutionary Council (ARC), Design-a-Thon, and more.
