iida Award 2011 Call for Entries

KDDI Co. Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo ; President: Tadashi Onodera) has
announced the iida Award 2011 design competition, and is encouraging all
those wishing to participate to submit their user-oriented product
designs. The goal of the competition is to develop excellent ideas into
commercial products.

Entry registration period from October 18, 2010 to January 31, 2011.And
Works must be received between January 11, 2011 and January 31, 2011.


Theme:
“iida LIFSTYLE PRODUCTS that add color to everyday life”

Contest description
“iida LIFESTYLE PRODUCTS” suitable for commercialization
*The works may incorporate digital content to enhance presentations

What are “iida LIFESTYLE PRODUCTS”?
Mobile phone peripherals that suggest new lifestyle
(Examples) AC adapters, straps, mobile phone cleaners, mobile phone
earphones, trays, etc.

What is digital content?
Interface design, application, sound functions, etc. that use mobile
phone as media

Product commercialization
Products to be selected: A few
Winners will participate in meetings with a prospect of
commercialization of products for iida LIFESTYLE PRODUCTS.
*Consideration in the amount of 500,000 yen (including consumption tax
and withholding income tax) will be paid.

Entry registration period
From Monday, October 18, 2010 to Monday, January 31, 2011

Judges
KDDI Corporation and external judges will conduct the screening process.


Meetings for product commercialization
Through iida AWARD 2011, we send out products that suggest new lifestyle
to the world by utilizing meetings for product commercialization in
which both the company and students exchange ideas to polish design and
specification. Therefore, some entry works may be buffed up and others
may require major changes in design and specification. Applicants who
passed the screening process will participate in meetings for product
commercialization for the period of up to one year.
