Bag In Town - Creative Contest

In the perspective of a mutual collaboration to raise new opportunites in the field of fashion design, Néo presents “ Bag in Town”,  design competition in collaboration with IED and Eastpak,the authentic urban lifestyle brand.

Creative designers from around the globe are asked to take part in the new design competition Bag in Town - A bag for 24 hours. Held in collaboration with the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED), within the portal creativecontexts.com, this ground-breaking competition explores the relationship between the bag and the urban environment. Encouraging proposals from the worlds of fashion, design and communications, Bag in Town aims to redefine the aesthetic and functional basis underlying bag design, asking one clear and simple question: “What constitutes the perfect bag for 24 hours?”
EASTPAK has always had an eye for the creative and unconventional. Which is why the brand is teaming up with IED – the international network for advanced training in design, fashion, visual communication and management – to give young minds the chance to express their creativity and explore new avenues for engaging their environment.

The Bag in Town design competition is open to anyone over the age of 18. Interested participants are invited to visit the dedicated website www.bagintown.net. Design proposals are accepted by the portal up until July 1st, 2012. The six best projects will be selected on the basis of style and innovative point of view – three by a specialized jury and three by the wider public.

The prizes? The six selected designers will be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the IED Creative Factory in Milan. Over six intensive days, the finalists will receive expert guidance from EASTPAK product and marketing managers and IED design management specialists with the goal of manufacturing a prototype of each design and transforming their respective projects into reality. These prototypes will then be published on the Bag in Town website and once again subjected to public scrutiny. The design earning the most votes will be awarded a cash prize of €5000 and the opportunity to see the winning creation on the market in 2013, as part of the new EASTPAK collection.

The contest belongs to the Creativecontexts.com   lab:got an idea? So, now you have the opportunity to really challenge your creativity, make new projects for brands that want to turn them into products, win prizes, scholarships, money  and even a job!

You know that it’s not easy for a young designer to have direct access to production and prototyping. Now your talent has a space to be expressed with Creative Contexts the community promoted by the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) aimed at aggregating creative and passionate people from more than 90 countries, that are involved in fashion, design, visual arts and communication, with the demands of most brilliant and innovative brands.

Creative Contexts publishes all contests offered by IED and their brand partners all around the world, which allows the participants of the community the opportunity to compete on creativity.

Within creativecontexts.com, IED gathers the creative community taking part in contests in the production of ideas i.e. concepts, that may be shared and voted on, and which may eventually become products manufactured and marketed by the brand sponsors in the e-commerce area.
