LA Film Festival Filmmaker Lounge Design Competition

Our Aspiration
The goal of this competition is to identify a transcendant design experience for the Filmmaker Lounge. Emphasis on the word EXPERIENCE. Film Independent is seeking bold, creative, audacious ideas to augment a well conceived floor plan. Once a winner is announced in April, he or she will work closely with Film Independent to create an actionable scheme given true budgetary restraints and product that is being donated courtesy of our gracious Furniture & Furnishings Benefactors listed below. The Filmmaker Lounge will be constructed and assembled on June 11-13, 2013. Strike will take place on June 23, 2013.

Programmatic Requirements

• 3x 10’ x 10' sponsor activation areas (e.g. Rolex showcasing newest watch collection)
• 5x indoor multiple-seating clusters
• 1x indoor bar w/ back bar
• 1x 10’ x 10’ (minimum) alcohol storage area, preferably behind bar
• 1x 8’ x 16’ x 12” stage w/ lights
• 3x gated outdoor lounge seating clusters
• 1x outdoor pop-up bar
• 3x exterior furniture & furnishings pavilions

Submission Guidelines
Your submission must include: 1x Plan, 1x North-South Section, 1x East-West Section, 1x Rendering, 1x link on DesignerPages.com for your favorite product by each Manufacturer Benefactor listed below and a link to your Archinect Profile. Your submission should be a conceptual proposal of spatial layout and design using provided resources. Entries will be judged on the quality of your proposal and your portfolio & experience as indicated on your Archinect Profile.

Winner!*
The winner will receive $1,800 in compensation for their design services once they've completed their realized scheme. Further, the winner will receive an Industry Badge to LA Film Festival. The winner's concept boards for the Filmmaker Lounge will be on display in the Filmmakers Lounge on Opening Night and throughout the festival.
