MA PRIZE 2013

Modern Atlanta, affectionately referred to as MA, is pleased to announce the third annual MA Prize competition. MA Prize 2013 entries will be carefully selected by a prestigious international jury of practicing designers and scholars and will be displayed at this year's MA13 “Design in Human Week”. 

This year, MA Prize highlights bold and innovative design projects that allow us a fresh perspective on the idea of 'SHARE', or ‘SHIFT’ the way we perceive ‘SHARE’. We commonly understand the idea of share as a fairly simple concept: when two different parts interact with each other to produce a new outcome. But, what does sharing mean to design; or what can design provide to sharing? The prize will be given to outstanding ideas of creative minds addressing various issues related to share through the implementation of design thinking.

MA Prize 2013 is seeking individuals, teams, firms, and students to submit creative design solutions related to this year's theme of ‘SHARE’. Ideas of all scales and typologies are eligible, whether it is a space, product, system or experience, as long as it responds to a need for inclusiveness, coexistence and empowerment. Submissions can be built or conceptual, but must have a potential to be realized.

UPDATE: The deadline has been extended until May 14, 2013. Here's a statement from the organizers:

"We are pleased to announce that the deadline of MA Prize 2013 has been extended, which is now May 14th, 11 PM EST. We've had many requests for a deadline extension that we've decided to extend the deadline by a week."
