Computing Form: Advanced Simulation Techniques with Kangaroo

Saturday, Feb 16, 201312:30 AMEDT

Online | Online

Explore the complex world of physics-based simulation using Grasshopper and the add-on Kangaroo. http://lab.modecollective.nu/lab/computing-form/ About This Online Course: In applications ranging from structural engineering to playful form making, this course will cover advanced techniques for modeling constraints and forces with grids, nets, and inflatables. In addition, participants will learn creative ways to capture and compile images and animations from their simulated models. This online course will build on the concepts and workflows outlined in Introduction to Simulation with Kangaroo and will last 2.5 hours including multiple ‘live’ Q & A sessions. With two instructors offering guided curriculum and continuous support, it is our goal to provide you with an in-depth and personal learning experience. A video of the webinar as well as instructor files will be uploaded after the broadcast, providing participants with unlimited access to the course content for continued learning. Registration can be found below. We look forward to your participation! Takeaways: -Discovering equilibrium shapes with Physics-Based Simulation -Developing structures using grids, nets, and inflatables -Advanced techniques for working with constraints and forces -Capturing simulations to image and video About the Instructors: Ronnie Parsons + Gil Akos are founding partners of Mode Collective. With over 15 years of combined experience designing, making, and teaching, Ronnie and Gil aim to provide workshop participants with a fun, interactive, and productive learning experience.
