We get it. It can get a little overwhelming keeping up with the dozens of new architecture competitions launching worldwide on any given week — let alone having to stay on top of the multiple deadlines for each and every one. That's why Bustler is here to help! At the end of every week, we'll share a quick selection of our newest design competition submissions that we think are worth a look, as well as some ongoing ones you might have missed the first time. National Railway Museum Central Hall Design Competition
Register/Submit Deadline: Wednesday, Oct 16, 2019

The National Railway Museum Central Hall Design Competition is a two-stage competition to design the museum’s new centrepiece building. [...] York Central will re-route a major road that currently bisects the museum’s site, separating two of its main galleries, Great Hall and Station Hall. The new Central Hall, a circa 4,500 sqm building with a £16.5 million construction budget, will bridge the space between these two exhibition halls. The new addition is intended to create an appealing and compelling arrival experience and improve legibility and connectivity across the wider site. This competition is open to both national and international integrated design teams that include architects and structural, civil and services engineers.

Future Monuments
Registration Deadline: Friday, Oct 25, 2019
Submission Deadline: Friday, Nov 22, 2019

The competition brief is straightforward: to design a monument, architectural structure, piece of public art or new program that discusses the themes described in this specific urban territory and question the function of a monument in 2020. Responses could imagine what the old idea of a ‘gate’ or ‘border’ could provide today. Architects, students of architecture or associated disciplines, designers and artists may enter.
