Ideas Competition for Bruce Lee’s Residence Now Open

On Monday, the “Bruce Lee Residence” competition opened for registration.
The international ideas competition seeks to restore Bruce Lee’s former residence in Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong and convert the property to a tourism attraction. The property owner, Mr. Yu Pang-lin, has agreed to donate the property to the Government with a view to restoring and preserving the original appearance of Lee’s residence, which will be opened for visit by members of the public and visitors. The restored residence is to commemorate Bruce Lee’s contributions to the film industry and martial arts, and is expected to attract visitors from all over the world to pay tribute to one of the greatest legends of our time.

The jury comprises Mr. Yu Pang-lin, Honorary Chairman; Mr. Michael N. M. Choi, JP, Honorary Vice-chairman; Mr. Dennis Pang, representative of property owner; Ms. Shannon Lee, representative of Mr. Bruce Lee’s family; Mr. James H. Kinoshita, Past President, The Hong Kong Institute of Architects; Mr. P.Y. Tam, President, The Hong Kong Institute of Planners; Mr. Francis L. K. Leung, President, The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors; Ir. Peter K. K. Wong, SBS, JP, Chairman, Kowloon City District Council; and Mr. Anthony Lau, Executive Director, Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Registration is open to members of the architectural, planning, surveying, engineering, interior design, landscaping and related professional fields until August 31, 2009. Submissions are due by October 15.
