Archtober is accepting submissions for projects to be included in New York City’s month-long festival of architecture and design. Each day in October 2018, we will feature a Building of the Day as a noon-time, architect-led tour.
With the goal of making exemplary architecture and the work of architects more accessible to the general public, the lunchtime tours, led by the project’s architect, provide a platform for engagement in important issues in the New York City built environment.
Previous Buildings of the Day have included Donald Judd Home and Studio (Architecture Research Office and Walter B. Melvin Architects); the World Trade Center Transportation Hub (Downtown Design Partnership: STV, AECOM, and Santiago Calatrava), Sunset Park Material Recovery Facility (Selldorf Architects), Barclays Center (SHoP Architects), 40 Bond (Herzog and de Meuron), and Brooklyn Bridge Park (Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates).
In addition to publication in the Archtober print guide and website, the tour will be featured on the Archtober blog.
Please complete and send the submission form. The building can be located in any of the five boroughs of New York City and does not need to be a recently completed project. The building must be available for a day time tour during October 2018. The building should be nominated by the architect, who is responsible for liaising with the building management and clearing the copyrights of the images submitted. The deadline is April 1, 2018. Building of the Day sites will be announced this summer.
Please email submission forms to [email protected] with the subject line “Building of the Day Submission.”
