Framing Urban Landscapes is the 2018 student photography competition presented by the Julius Shulman Institute and the AIA San Fernando Valley. Open to all students of Architecture in Southern California, the competition celebrates student understanding and appreciation of photography of the built environment. The competition provides opportunities for student photographers to contribute to the discourse on urban image-making.
Deadline
All submissions must be sent by Friday, April 20th, 2018. No late submissions will be accepted. Framing Urban Landscapes is open to all students of architecture in Southern California. Submission of entries acknowledges their use for publication and exhibition by the Julius Shulman Institute.
Exhibition
All awarded entries will be exhibited at the Woodbury University Hollywood Outpost (WUHO) Gallery on Saturday, May 5th, 2018. The Framing Urban Landscapes exhibition will coincide with the 2018 Julius Shulman Institute Excellence in Photography Award.
Format
Students of architecture are allowed to submit up to two photographs for entry. Each entry must be digitally submitted as a 11 x 8.5″ format, 300 dpi jpeg. Files should be named as follows: LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_TITLE.jpg Please include your name, school and contact phone number. 100 word artist statements should be included with each photograph submitted.
