Now in its second decade, What Makes It GREEN? (WMIG?) continues to recognize and celebrate the best green design in the Northwest and Pacific Region including: Alaska, Guam/Micronesia, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Idaho, Japan, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.
DATES & DEADLINES
February 26: Registration Deadline (late fees apply hereafter)
March 12: Submittal deadline
March 15-23: Eligibility review
April 12-16: Short-listed project teams notified; interview times confirmed.
May 1: Shortlist project boards due at the AIA Seattle
May 5: Jury interviews short-listed project teams (Seattle City Hall, 1-4 p.m.)
Early June: WMIG? celebration, exhibition and panel discussion held in Seattle
June - December: Touring exhibit of WMIG? awarded projects
October 13-16: AIA Northwest and Pacific Regional Conference (Eugene, OR)
The 2010 WMIG? program recognizes projects that demonstrate the highest accomplishment in environmentally sustainable architecture, combining inspired design, systems analysis, and performance evaluation under the domains of Planet, People and Prosperity. Projects are welcomed in two categories: On the Boards and Built & Operating.
AIA Seattle’s Committee on the Environment (COTE) welcomes project entries from architects, interior designers, landscape architects and other design professionals, along with students in related fields.
