Objective: To design a housing complex in Cleveland’s Fairfax neighborhood that will provide an innovative, affordable, sustainable and supportive environment for families in which grandparents are the primary caregivers of their grandchildren.
Type: Single-phase open competition
Eligibility: Open to Ohio registered architects in association with collaborating designers (see below for details)

Jury
The jury will be announced at the informational meeting on September 29, 2008. Jurors will include nationally recognized experts on housing design, aging and sustainability, as well as local service providors, developers and representatives of the Fairfax community and grandparent caregivers.

first place: $10,000
second place: $5,000
third place: $2,500
people’s choice award: $1,000 (awarded at public presentation of jury awards)
