A hat is a head ornament. It is a construct and comes in many shapes and sizes. Hats may be indicators of social status, they may be used as protection against the elements, religious identity or as fashion statements, much like architecture.
you&me; in conjunction with architect-turned-milliner Gabriela Ligenza are inviting artists to participate in hat-itecture, a shop front pop-up exhibition. The exhibition is part of the London Festival of Architecture and will run from 19th June – 4th July 2010 in the Ligenza flagship store, Sloane Square.
What would a London hat look like? We invite you to submit a hat inspired by London. Selected entries will form part of an installation curated around the iconic London map.
Please register your interest by 15th May 2010 via email to [email protected] / Submission deadline for hat models: Saturday 5th June 10-6pm at Ligenza, 5 Ellis Street SW1X 9AL (early submissions are acceptable between 10-6pm Monday to Saturday)
