Magda Cordell McHale (SUNY-Buffalo, 1978-99) and John McHale were participants in the London-based Independent Group who, after moving to America to work with Buckminster Fuller at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, went on to study the impact of emerging technologies on the future of human societies. In celebration of a diverse legacy that ranges from Pop Art to ecology, the McHale Fellowship is intended to support an innovative project to be developed, as in the case of the McHales, in tandem with a pedagogical agenda. The fellowship is intended to foster an integration of teaching with creative activity and research.
Applications should be composed of a well-considered proposal for research/creative work, as well as a curriculum vita, portfolio of work, and names of three references.
Deadline: Applications must be received by March 24, 2011
