Samsung Young Design Award

Students will be next generation designers: in order to generate skilful and aware professionals it is necessary to help them to flourish and challenge their talent.
This is why Samsung is proud to present you the first Samsung Young Design Award 2007.

Samsung’s objective is to establish a strong collaboration between the brand and Italian design, in order to:
create the “Next Design Generation” build a strong bond between Samsung and Italy
to support and highlight Italian design and its new talents.
The main purpose is to cultivate young and talented students that are currently enrolled in an Industrial or Interaction Design Program in Design Schools based in Italy.
With the Young Design Award, Samsung wants to highlight product design and conceptual electronics products/interactions as key factor to create innovative consumers experience in all aspects of their daily life.

But this is not only a competition. Samsung Young Design Award is a proactive learning program for students. Students have the chance to challenge their creative flair following competition theme. After this step, they will have the unique opportunity to receive a feedback from the jury (which is composed of very famous designers).
The Jury will support the award as a learning process, by:
understanding subject, finding concept and designing
selecting innovative concepts based on evaluation criteria
making a first selection, giving students a pro/cons comment on their project
making students refine their projects for final development.

Then, selected students will present to the jury the final concept and projects mock ups during the final event and the jury will announce the winners.
