We look forward to seeing you at Golden Bridge Yoga, in SoHo, to enjoy Tibetan food and to share ideas about Architecture for Tibet's current project: An Academic Center for the children of Manjushree Orphanage in Tawang, India. Envisioned as both a school and activity center, the building will house classrooms, a library, a computer and language lab, and a multipurpose room, and will be equipped with a geothermal system for radiant heating, creating a warm environment during the long, harsh winters experienced in this remote Himalayan locale. This will enable the children to be comfortable, healthy, and active within their learning environment throughout all the seasons. WHEN: Saturday, September 26, 6 to 8 p.m. WHERE: Golden Bridge Yoga NYC 253 Centre Street (between Broome St and Grand St.) WHAT: Reception with food and drink (non alcoholic), silent auction, special guests and a short screening, followed by a Q and A with AFT founder John Ullman. stay tuned for details to follow at www.architecturefortibet.org $25 at door / for registration information please contact us at [email protected] Donations raised at the Benefit will help secure enough funding to reach our goal of completing the first year of construction. An optimal learning environment will foster academic success and enable these needy children to flourish. Your generous support is admirable, as these children will grow up fast and need a room to learn in as soon as possible. Architecture for Tibet is an all volunteer, tax exempt not-for-profit organization based in New York City. 100% of donations received will go to the Manjushree Orphanage Project. Please see the linked article in Architectural Record for more information, press I'm happy and humbled to have received. http://archrecord.construction.com/news/daily/archives/090803tibet.asp
