Forgotten Spaces is an exhibition that showcases the best entries from a landmark design competition launched by RIBA London, Design for London and investor and developer Qatari Diar. The competition asked designers to seek out disused and forgotten areas of London and put forward ideas for developing the space to serve the local area. The proposals could be simple or complex, commercial or public; a piece of public art or a new building. The only requirement was to respond to a need in the community. Forgotten Spaces promotes a grass roots approach to urban design with local artists and designers devising solutions for individual sites. The exhibition features a wide array of conceptual projects and possibilities for overlooked spaces across the capital and is presented via a mix of models, photographs, collages and relief wall pieces.
