The artist and artisans of Elysian Valley, otherwise known as Frogtown, are pleased to announce the third annual Frogtown Art Walk, a celebration of the creativity and talent flourishing in the industrial buildings along the LA River. As many of you know, last year on August 25th we hosted the second Frogtown Art walk; a self-guided tour of the various studios in Elysian Valley. Visitors wandered on foot (or by bicycle) from studio to studio along the river, and the more adventurous caught a ride on Brand-name Label’s Phukett/Frogtown Express Shalelagh, a Thai-style long-tail riverboat on airplane wheels. This year, the Art Walk has expanded to include a number of additional studios and hula hoops, as well as favorites such as an LA River Tour, an environmental art installation, and live music by a number of talented local bands. The boundaries of Elysian Valley (Frogtown) are the 2 freeway to the north, the 110 freeway to the south, the Los Angeles River to the east, and the 5 freeway to the west. The tour is free and open to the public. Free street parking is plentiful in the area. For further details, images, and a map of the tour sites, visit the Frogtown Art Walk website at www.frogtownarts.com or call the office of Tracy A. Stone Architect at (323) 664-0202.
