Organized in conjunction with MoMA’s ‘Small Scale Big Change’ exhibit, the panel will showcase innovative and provocative homeless housing solutions from New York and Los Angeles. Michael Maltzan, FAIA, principal of Los Angeles-based Michael Maltzan Architecture, will present projects including the 97-unit New Carver Apartments designed for the Skid Row Housing Trust in downtown LA. Jonathan Kirschenfeld, principal of Jonathan Kirschenfeld Architects in New York City, will present Common Ground’s new 72-unit Domenech in Brownsville, Brooklyn along with other of the firm’s supportive housing work. The architects will be joined by Rosanne Haggerty, President of Common Ground, who will speak about the import of fresh thinking around supportive housing prototypes and successful strategies for creating sustainable living environments for at-risk individuals. The panel will be moderated by Michael Bell, Director, Housing Studios, Col umbia University GSAPP and Michael Bell Architecture.
