Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm Location: School of Visual Arts Theater 333 West 23rd Street NYC 10011 Debbie Millman, Hillman Curtis, and Richard Wilde at the School of Visual Arts cordially invite you to the taping of the television pilot Design Matters with two legendary designers Stefan Sagmeister and Milton Glaser School of Visual Arts Theater 333 West 23rd Street New York City Friday, December 11 There will be two seatings: 9-1 2-6 At the conclusion of each interview, we will be conducting a live taping of Q&A with the audience! Please note: seats will be filled on a first come, first served basis The Design Matters television pilot is a design version of “Inside the Actors Studio†and is being produced by School of Visual Arts. The taping takes place in the newly renovated—and gorgeous—SVA Theater on West 23rd Street. The inaugural guests will be legendary designers Milton Glaser (the designer who created the “I [heart] NY†logo) and Stefan Sagmeister (the only graphic designer to have won a Grammy award and a design award from the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum). Directing the show is Hillman Curtis, well known for his films with David Byrne, Mark Romanek, Lawrence Weiner and others. The interviews will last 30 minutes apiece and will be shot in front of a live audience of invited design industry luminaries and students. The interviews will also take place against a projected backdrop of the subjects’ work. After taping concludes on Saturday, Dec. 12, there will be a party at the SVA Theater that is part wrap party for the show, and part release party for Debbie’s new book of visual essays LOOK BOTH WAYS.
