Exhibition of the work of Peter Macapia / labDORA, the Design Office for Research and Architecture. Collectively titled 'Dirty Geometry', these architectural, urban, structural and spatial manifolds are generated through a study of geometrical patterns and systems. 'Swarm' describes these systems' collective intelligence, which emerges from the execution of simple processes and rules, an approach that explores the relationship between material self-organization and computational algorithms. The installation uses advanced rapid prototyping driven by computational tools developed specifically for this work; it consists of 13 models and 300 genetic studies 'floating' in the form of a swarm cloud. Each model begins as a study of transformations about entities called 'singularities' that organize and embody systems undergoing dynamic change. Trajectories of genetic mutation and evolution define the continuity between the different models and their constellation of studies. Bridge Gallery, 98 Orchard Street - New York, NY
