SUPERFRONT is proud to present Temporary Publics, an informal pin-up of the works produced from the Sketch 120: Temporary Publics charrette in partnership with Design in 5, a program of the Architectural League NY. May 30 – June 30. Opens Sunday May 30th 6pm - 8pm. SUPERFRONT is happy to announce that KIT's scheme for the New York City Explorer's Carnival has been selected as the winning design and public program for the backyard of the Brooklyn gallery this summer. KIT's scheme, which features hundreds of hula hoops forming a connected canopy, was selected by the Sketch 120: Temporary Publics jury comprised of DJ /rupture, nArchitects, Slade Architecture. The Sketch 120: Temporary Publics charrette was produced in partnership with Design in 5, a program of the Architectural League NY, with additional support from Brooklyn Arts Council and SuckerPunchDaily.com KIT is comprised of designers Lauren Page, Phil Kuehne, Justin Foster, and Read Langworthy. The quartet, a combination of academic and professional associations, has a passion for public design and social infrastructure. All are recent graduates from Bachelors of Architecture Programs and they currently live, work, and play in New York City. NY City Explorers (NYCE) is a Brooklyn-based family enrichment center created by Kisha Edwards-Gandsy & Keyanna Murrill that provides classes, camps, childcare, two indoor play spaces, and party planning for families throughout NYC. The NYCE Carnival at SUPERFRONT aims to provide safe, carnival style atmosphere complete with scheduled films, games, contests, healthy food vendor sampling, and creative family programming. This exhibit is partyly enabled by generous support from the Architectural League of NY, the Brooklyn Arts Council, the SUPERFRONT Board of Directors, and suckerpunchdaily.com
