Join four of Denmark's leading architecture firms as they discuss current conditions for innovative urban development at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto on Tuesday, May 13 from 4:15pm to 6:00pm. For 400 years, Copenhagen has not permitted any foreign architect to design inside its city limits. However, during the past 10 years, the Copenhagen market has opened itself to foreign architects considerably, resulting in a number of significant international projects. The widening of the Danish market has consequently sparked a renaissance amongst its own architectural community, enabling the country to develop a national architecture policy and create multidisciplinary and international approaches to urban revitalization. The four architecture firms from which representatives will be participating are 3XN, Henning Larsen Architects, Arkitema Architects, and Holscher Arkitekter. This event is moderated by Ian Chodikoff, editor of Canadian Architect magazine, and is presented by the Royal Danish Consulate General, Canadian Architect magazine and the Design Exchange. Admission is free, but seating is extremely limited. Please RSVP to [email protected].
