This week, listen in on a discussion about the new book “Blue Dunes: Climate Change by Design” and design resiliency, or join the Architectural League of New York First Fridays studio visit at the shared office of Leong Leong, Project Projects, and MTWTF. Photographer Jeffrey Milstein also just opened an exhibition featuring his aerial city photography at the Benrubi Gallery.

Blue Dunes Book Talk on Resiliency and the Future of Our Coasts | February 1
A panel discussion on the new book “Blue Dunes: Climate Change by Design” as well as resiliency and coastal protection. Blue Dunes chronicles a post-Hurricane Sandy proposal to create barrier islands centered on the New York/New Jersey Harbor to protect the coast from future storms and surge flooding. Panelists include the book editors Jesse Keenan (Harvard GSD) and‎ Claire Weisz (WXY architecture + urban design), as well as Jonathan Goldstick (Langan), who worked on the concept.
A new month means it's time for the Architectural League's next First Friday. Meet Leong Leong, Project Projects, and MTWTF at their shared office for drinks, conversation, and a behind-the-scenes look at their ongoing work.
Jeffrey Milstein: Leaning Out | Open now until March 17
Leaning Out is the new solo show by Jeffrey Milstein at Benrubi Gallery, his second at the gallery. Milstein’s overhead images of ports, train yards, airports, parking lots, and cityscapes, shot from small planes and helicopters, reveal harmonious symmetries invisible during daily life, yet are still somehow familiar.
