Arquitectonica from Miami unveiled the conceptual master plan that envisions a potential Major League Soccer Stadium site for the Port of Miami.
A notable part of the plan is a soccer stadium that Arquitectonica designed with 360 Architects for soccer star David Beckham.

Project description:
"'Miami’s passionate soccer fans deserve an iconic stadium, and the Port of Miami provides a setting that would be truly unique not just for soccer in America, but globally,” said Bernardo Fort-Brescia, Arquitectonica’s founding principal. “The stadium would build on the incredible evolution of downtown Miami, and create a vibrant hub of cultural and entertainment activity along Miami’s waterfront, framed by significant new parks, plazas and open spaces along the Bay.'"
"David Beckham added, 'When people think of Miami, they immediately think about being near or on the water. I asked my team to develop ideas for a stadium that embraces the best of the destination. Even though we are in the early stages of building the franchise, I believe we have a vision that not only Miami would be proud of, but one that will resonate around the world.'"
"As part of a thorough process that has included the review of more than 30 locations, Arquitectonica and the Beckham team outlined their conceptualization for a world-class stadium and site at the Port of Miami, which would offer fans an unparalleled game experience and complement the Port’s own master development plan."
"In addition to the stadium, the illustrative site plan depicts examples of abutting hotel and office development built by private investors to provide revenue for the Port. The Port of Miami is one of several options still being considered by the club in their ongoing negotiations with Miami-Dade County and Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez."
