Mode in Flux | Open now until 27 August
Set within London’s Roca Gallery, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects and completed in 2011, is the ‘Mode in Flux’ exhibition showcasing the relationship between engineering and fashion, which is coming into its final week. The gallery itself is a great place to visit; to explore the cavernous showroom is immersive and magical.
This exhibition focuses on the innovation and technology within fashion design, and how we ask demand more of our clothes in the age of ‘smart’. Interactive and transforming pieces make up the collection, with sportswear that changes colour and texture depending on the body temperature of the wearer amongst other innovative garments.

The ‘Next ‘Invasive’ Is ‘Native' | 23 August
This lunchtime talk is a 30-minute consultation session with Cooking Sections on the devaluation of property, and looks into the idea of ‘non-native’ and ‘invasive’ species through the subject of ice-cream. Cooking Sections is a duo of spatial practitioners, who aim to explore the systems of the world through the medium of food.
“The ‘Next “Invasive” Is “Native” re-thinks the ‘alien’ as an entity that actually constructs a new reality... Scaremongering, deflation of property value and the refusal to grant mortgages to homeowners that have found Japanese Knotweed on their premises are processes that have created a market for expensive eradication programmes.”
