2025 Honor Awards for Washington Architecture

Collective power of design.

We live in a time of continual transformation. In the face of uncertainty, design remains one of our most powerful tools—to adapt, respond, and evolve together as a community. We know there is power in the many. How can we build on one another’s insights to foster a culture of generosity, equity, and shared purpose? How can our collective creativity shape a more just, sustainable, and resilient world?

We invite you to share your work—whether large or small—that contributes to the broader design ecosystem. Here are a few highlights for the 2025 Honor Awards:

• We encourage submitters to celebrate the people and places that shape their projects, highlighting the contributions of all collaborators and the collective vision behind the work.
• You’ll notice minor updates to requested information in the 2025 Common App for Design Excellence as AIA Seattle continues to demonstrate leadership around design’s role in addressing climate change. All BUILT submitters are required to complete the Common App to the best of their ability and convey their approach to sustainable design.
• New this year, we’re asking submitters to include a “Project Context” page as part of your Submission Package as an opportunity to expand on the project story and provide more context to the jury.
• We invite you to join colleagues to celebrate outstanding design and strengthen the fabric of our amazing community. This year’s Live Event is on Monday, November 3 at Town Hall Seattle, and we can’t wait to start the party at 5:30pm!

Every project has the power to inspire, challenge, and strengthen our communities. How does your work respond to its context? How does it engage peers and neighbors? How does it cultivate long-term stewardship—of place, process and material—while leaving room to evolve and endure?
