CP Kukreja Design Trophy 2025-26: Exploring Kinetic Architecture

The CP Kukreja Design Trophy 2025-26, by the CP Kukreja Foundation for Design Excellence and NASA India, and supported by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), calls on undergraduate architecture students worldwide to reimagine how the built environment can adapt to an uncertain future.

With climate change bringing rising heat, floods, and shifting weather patterns, the idea of static architecture is being challenged. This year’s theme, Kinetic Architecture, invites students to envision buildings that are alive to change, structures that tilt toward the sun, fold to create shade, lift with floodwaters, or breathe with the wind.

The trophy provides a platform for experimental and critical thinking, encouraging students to propose solutions where design and nature exist in balance. It is not about futuristic speculation but about real, responsive systems that reflect resilience, innovation, and architectural clarity.
