Ghost Project 2024 "MICROCOSM"

Register/Submit Deadline:  Monday, Apr 15, 202412 PMCEST

Competition Overview:

Theme: MICROCOSM (focusing on small-scale interventions with big impact)

Deadline: April 15, 2024

Eligibility: Open to all designers under 35 years old (individuals or groups)

Competition Entry Fee: free of charge

Benefits:

  • Showcase designs at the Mikser Festival in Belgrade (May 23-25)
  • Participate in dynamic discussions and workshops
  • Network with established creative disruptors and social innovators

Explore the Power of Micro-improvements

The Ghost Project 2024 theme, "Microcosm," encourages designers to explore the potential of small-scale interventions. From the overlooked corners of urban landscapes to the intricacies of objects we use in our daily life, there is a wealth of untapped potential waiting to be unleashed through clever and witty micro-improvements that may appear modest in scale but with the potential to make a substantial impact on sustainability, social equity, health and wellbeing, urban resilience, and much more. As part of the Mikser Festival 2024 edition which explores the power of “Micro-tactics”, the Ghost Project theme “Microcosm” echoes the butterfly effect, where a small gesture can set in motion a chain of events leading to significant change. By focusing on micro-tactics, whether it’s in city elements, design of products and services, or community engagement, designers have the potential to create a ripple effect with far-reaching implications, one well-considered design choice at a time.

Jury of Renowned Design Experts

A distinguished jury panel, including Richard van der Laken (founder of What Design Can Do from Amsterdam), successful Ghost Projects’ alumni Vasso Asfi & Loukas Angelou (founders of StudioLav based in London), as well as Balkan design “gurus”: Nikola Radeljkovic (co-founder of Numen / ForUse from Croatia), professor Jelena Matic, and the Ghost Project founder Maja Lalic (both based in Belgrade) will evaluate entries based on their potential to disrupt industries, improve lives, and address societal or environmental issues through innovative micro-tactics.
